Watson Cohen Working Toward Deal to Acquire Parc Fontaine Apartment Complex

Acquisition would catalyze revitalization of the property and improve the quality of life for its residents

Watson Cohen, a local real estate development and private equity asset management firm committed to community revitalization and sustainable urban development, announced today that it is in advanced negotiations to acquire the Parc Fontaine Apartment Complex. This potential acquisition marks a significant step toward ensuring quality housing for its residents and improving the overall quality of life in Algiers.

Watson Cohen aims to revitalize Parc Fontaine through experienced property management as well as a multi-year renovation program. While details of the deal remain confidential, Watson Cohen is working diligently to close in fall 2024.

“Parc Fontaine is a beautiful apartment complex that has been on our radar for several years,” said Jarrett Cohen, Principal and Managing Partner of Watson Cohen. “ It’s our sole goal to contribute to its rich 50 year history which involves no displacements of residents.”

The prospective acquisition aligns with Watson Cohen’s mission to create positive social impact through its real estate investments. “Watson Cohen wants to breathe new life into Parc Fontaine to create a better standard of living for the 1,000 plus residents that live there,” said Jeremy Watson, Principal and Managing Partner of Watson Cohen. “Healthy living conditions are critical to delivering better health outcomes overall.”

Watson Cohen, which has offices in New Orleans and Jersey City, was organized in 2020, but founded in 2015 through its New Orleans-based predecessor, JECohen Realty. Other notable Watson Cohen projects include the recently completed redevelopment of 714 Canal in New Orleans and the future redevelopment of the State National Life Building in Baton Rouge.
